On Friday, October 24, the Kentucky Electric Generation and Transmission Siting Board (KYSB) granted Candela’s Summer Shade Solar Project a certificate to construct (CTC).
The CTC approves the 106 MW photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, allowing construction to begin as scheduled in 2026.
Candela extends sincere thanks to our partners for their outstanding support throughout the application process, including Sturgill, Turner Barker & Molony, PLLC; Stantec; Heartland Communications Consultants; and project consultants Mark Carney and John Loy.
We also express our appreciation to the project landowners, the Summer Shade community, and the many residents, leaders, and businesses who have welcomed us to Metcalfe County.
